The Assignment: Marissa Faireborn, Beachcomber and Bluestreak are investigating a series of disappearances in the Canadian city of Vancouver in the summertime. What horrible secret will they uncover that could turn the whole world against the Autobots?
What I Did... I chose a place in Vancouver called Stanley Park, specifically the Seawall part of it out by Siwash Rock - [link] I saw an image of the location online and fell in love with it... I also thought having Bluestreak speeding down the narrow, winding road with Marissa on his hood would kick ass. The spotlight from the pursuing helicopter is the division line between the two parts, and the lower part is meant to be rendered in night appropriate colors.
Marissa Faireborn I loved the gear and look she was given in the Dreamwave comics and decided to so something along those lines. What can I say? I know boobs sell, but I love me some body armor and trench coat stuffs. I also wanted to play on the disappearances part of the given story, so I gave her a bloody CD to hold... Somehow I associate disappearances with murders, so I figured that if anyone was looking to dump bodies, Marissa and company might want to get down to an area where bodies could be dumped. And given we live in the age of information, even what's on a single disc could be reason enough to murder someone.
Bluestreak We were asked to update the looks of the supporting cast of Transformers, and knowing that Prowl in the IDW comics is no longer a Datsun 280Z ([link]) but a 350Z instead ([link]), I went ahead and gave Blue the same makeover (given it's tradition for certain Autobots to share the same or very similar body molds). But I wanted to keep some of his old G1 looks, so I gave him a dark colored hood and tagged in a custom front plate.
Beachcomber ...what the hell do you do with a guy who turns into a dune buggy? The problem with Transformers is that they've got a lot of moving parts, and something as wiry and small as dune buggy like vehicle isn't really cut out to support something that complex. But I didn't want to leave poor Beachcomber with a generic, blocky look either... So I found images of the Volkswagen "Concept T" ([link]) to use as a basis for his new look and alt mode. And I know 'Comber doesn't traditionally have door wings, but the shape of the doors on the "T" are killer; I had to throw them in.
EDIT! Now in color, thanks to Check out the killer colored version here - [link]

Greatness is not about the number of times you successed, it is about the number of times you fail and then try again and again till you get it right.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

She thinks now, because she cannot be sure, but that plastic bag must have sailed away, forgotten, with the fuel leak that trailed a dark rainbow behind the whir of the big boats engine.
